Invitation to Mass with a Difference followed by Parish picnic & farewell to Fr Duane Sunday February 24th at 6pm in the grounds of St Michael’s School. BYO picnic dinner, rug/chairs. (We will have chairs set up as well) Tea, coffee, water and sweets provided. Please come along and celebrate together with our Parish community.

Year 7 2020 Enrolment Applications Open Night and Information Evening - Wednesday 27th February 5.00pm – Interactive Tours commence and 7.00pm – Information Session. Enrolment Applications for Year 7 2020 will be accepted from 28th Feb until 8th April. The evening is for interested parents and their children and will include information displays and interactive tours of the many facilities available at our school.

Catechist In-service: ‘Be the Boss of Your Classroom; The New SRE Guidelines; and Using the Curriculum’ will be lead by Peter Gilmore on Tuesday 19th February 9:30am – 1pm in the Parish Centre. These topics count towards the completion of the Level 1 course but all Catechists are encouraged to attend.

Catechist Child Protection and Classroom Management Training: will occur Wednesday 20th March 7pm – 9pm, in the Parish Centre. We are all required to complete this training every 3 years to keep up to date. Please consider car-pooling with others from your region.

Can we really make a difference? Yes! Catechists make a lasting difference in the lives of the young people that they teach. There has never been a more critical time to engage in the faith formation of our young people. If you can give 1 hour of your time per week to teach or help out in a classroom, please speak to Frances: 0413539370.

SVdP Drought Appeal in the Wollongong Diocese raised an amazing $121,000 in 2018. We thank all those who contributed so generously to this urgent Appeal.

As this money was donated specifically to assist farmers who are suffering hardship because of drought, the Society is now anxious to respond to requests for assistance from farmers in such circumstances. Farmers  need call the Nowra Vinnies Care & Support Centre on 4421 0390 –Mon - Fri from 10am - 11:30am and we will do all we can to help. Requests will be assessed following the established criteria in regard to this Drought Relief project.

National Apology on Sexual Abuse: Bishop Brian Mascord has expressed his support for the National Apology on Monday with a pastoral message. The message is available at www.dow.org.au He writes “It is true that words can be hopelessly inadequate if not accompanied by effective action.” There are hard copies available at the foyers; on the back of the sheets is a summary of recent actions taken in Wollongong Diocese towards creating a safer Church. 

Holy Spirit Catholic Church - call for choir members. If you have an interest in singing and would like to assist at the 9.30am Mass on Sundays, please have a word after Mass or ring Deirdre on 44437825.

Prayer Basket, Nowra Church:The Alpha Team and Nowra Community Group have arranged a Prayer Basket in the side foyer. There are prayer cards where you can write a prayer intention and place it in the basket.
An Alpha Team member will take the prayer intentions to the altar during the entrance procession.

Eric Genuis Concerts at St Michael’s Parish Hall on 21st February 2019 - 7:00pm and Holy Spirit Vincentia on 28th February - 6:30pm.

People with Coeliac are advised there is a suitable Communion Host available for them in our churches. The host is placed in a pyx on the altar for consecration and is kept separate from regular hosts in the ciborium at the time of distribution. Fr Pat and Fr Duane have been consecrating these hosts for Coeliacs for the last few years. All you need to do is tell Father before Mass and he will see that your host is available for you to receive. If you would like more information, please contact Patricia Bourke 0433 509 636.

Pray As You Go and Sacred Space are free Apps, available to download from iTunes and Google Play. You can listen in the car, out walking or any time of day. It offers a reflection on the daily Scripture reading and a reflective review (examen) of your day before you go to sleep.

St Michael’s Playgroup - Runs each Monday during the school term from 9:00am–10:30am in foyer of St Michael's School Hall. Parents, grandparents, carers, all welcome! Please bring your child’s snacks and drink. Gold coin donation.

Children’s Liturgy Sundays 9:30am (during the school term) at St Michaels - children aged 4 and up gather together with our volunteer teachers to receive God's Word on their own level, in a fun and interactive way.


Craft-Tea Characters - Clean and useable knitting, crocheting, sewing and general craft materials are gratefully accepted. Don’t forget you are welcome to join us on a Wednesday 9:30ish-12:00ish. Making connections through craft, cuppas and company.
